In California, Stillpoint offers the Spiritual Journey as an eight-month program that supports participants exploring their personal spiritual lives in a small group setting, deeply enriching their relationship with God/Spirit and recognizing the ways that God is present and working in their lives. A trained facilitator guides members in developing their skills in deep listening and personal discernment

Group members are strongly encouraged to be in Spiritual Direction while participating in the program. (Stillpoint can refer applicants to Spiritual Directors, if desired.) The Spiritual Journey Program introduces participants to the deep and expansive practices of Christian spiritual formation, the ancient practice of Spiritual Direction, and a process whereby participants will discern the next steps in their spiritual journey. The Spiritual Journey Program is open to people of all denominations and faiths. We are rooted in the Christian tradition, and we welcome a diverse and inclusive learning community.

Spiritual Journey classes in California for the 2013-2014 season are planned for Ventura/SanFernando Valley, West Los angeles, Pasadena area, South Bay, and Claremont.

WHAT IS THE COMMITMENT?

For the California course, the program consists of eight six-hour sessions that meet once each month, including a mid-year retreat. Each session includes personal exploration, group discussion of assigned readings, and practice in forms of prayer and contemplation. Participants who discern a call to become Spiritual Directors can then apply to enter Stillpoint’s two year training program in The Art of Spiritual Direction.

FEE: The tuition fee is $400, which includes all materials except books

DATES: This year's Spiritual Journey classes begin Saturday, September 14, 2013.
(Remaining class sessions are scheduled on the first day.)

Application as early as possible is strongly recommended.
